Just a small town Iowa gal chasing a crazy photography dream
Hey! I'm Hunter! A film & digital photographer from small town Iowa chasing a crazy photography dream amongst the neon lights of Nashville, TN. Some of my favorite things in this life are telling your beautiful love stories, photographing concerts and traveling anywhere or everywhere I can.
In my life, there are two major passions - weddings and music. To me they’re different works of art – different styles – different driving forces in my life that keep me striving to be better as a photographer every day. I can’t help but feel inspired and creative whether or not it’s a groom seeing his bride for the first time and the smallest tear as he realizes he gets to spend forever with the love of his life - or an artist who realizes the crowd of thousands of people are singing back a song they have worked so hard on to be heard. I smile. I smile at the things I get to witness, the love and success I get to see amongst those I photograph. I love what I get to do! And I hope that one day I get to work with you because you see that too.
I feel like there is so much I could tell you about myself - like how I got to Nashville, how I started in photography, or little things about my life this far. But I'm a social butterfly and would much rather talk in person and hear about you! One last thing – I absolutely love meeting new people, so I promise you we will be like the best of friends!

"Hunter is not only the most talented photographer, but she was the highlight of my wedding vendors!"

"Hybrid” photography - the combination of two different photography mediums, such as digital and film. (Yes, for those of you who remember rolls of film prior to the 2000's, that is film photography!)
In the last handful of years, my love for film has exploded! Film is a beautiful format of photography that is making a major comeback because of its effortless way of capturing light and colors, as well as its quickness for the final product. Shot on actual rolls of film (typically 15/16 images per roll) - film captures subjects in a beautiful way that digital just can’t. After shooting my sessions and weddings, I send the rolls to my developer to have them processed and sent back to me in digital form. Every time I get my film back from the lab it’s like Christmas morning, I can’t wait to see what I got! (little note - you can’t see what you captured on the back of your camera like digital - so, it truly is a wonderful surprise!) It takes patience, an eye for capturing “that moment” and knowledge of lighting scenarios to be skilled at film photography. I have invested so much time in learning this art and now I am so excited to be offering services on film only!
*Fun fact: 95% of what I share on my website and social media is Film!!
